About Central Communications |
The Ritchie/Doddridge E911 center took its first 911 call on Thursday, Sept. 12th, 2002 at 4:35 PM. This Center is the result of the planning of the two County Commissions, who in 1999, incorporated Central Communications for the sole purpose of providing 911 service to the citizens of Doddridge and Ritchie Counties. The Center was originally housed in a building completed in June, 2002, built by and shared with the West Union WV State Police Detachment. CCI has 14 employees at full staffing: 9 Telecommunicators, 2 Mapping & Addressing employees, the Operations Manager, the Deputy Directors and the Executive Director. The 911 center features the most current technologies for receiving, archiving and dispatching 911 calls to each respective emergency agency. These agencies include 8 Law Enforcement agencies, 2 EMS agencies, and 10 volunteer Fire Departments. CCI has moved our operations into our newly remodeled building in Pennsboro. This facility is much larger than the original building, which we had outgrown by 2 years prior. The original center will now become our back up center, which will remain equipped for service. This will make CCI a rarity in the state of West Virginia; very few centers have a fully equipped back up 911 center. The move also makes our back up center much, much more reliable, as the centers no longer use the same telephone circuitry. |
